Connor was a huge help in keeping me healthy this year. He fixed a shoulder pain I was dealing with from a previous dislocation and helped strengthen my hip which was impacting my back and hamstring. He gave me exercises which were easy and effective to manage during the season and I was more than happy with the result!

Working with Connor was an absolute pleasure. As a professional athlete whenever you get an injury it can be a worrying time but the diligence, care and expertise he shown during my treatment was second to none. I recovered faster than expected and 6 months later on have had zero issues. It’s like I was never injured. I couldn’t recommend Connor highly enough, absolute top quality

I’ve suffered with shoulder injuries throughout my rugby career. More recently these shoulder issues have led to neck problems. Since I’ve been seeing Connor he’s managed to resolve these issues and help me get back to pain free and doing the things I love like the gym and surfing. Have recommended him to a number of clients as he’s incredibly knowledgeablex and unlike other physios seems to treat and prevent the issue as opposed to just plastering over the problem.

Connor was a great physio for us! He takes pride in his job and really enjoys it. He’s always wanting to learn how to be better at his job and he’s always there for us when we need him. Whenever i personally reached out to him he responds with quickness and solutions until I am properly able to see him. I enjoyed working with Connor wish he could stay rest of season, but wish him the best and more success at his next job.

Could not recommend Connor Flynn enough. Any athletes looking for a sports physio Connor is the man to help. He quickly diagnosed my injury after talking through some symptoms I was experiencing and within 30 minutes of treatment had massively improved my mobility and lowered the level of pain I was experiencing. Connor has been a great help to me in my last fight camp and I’m excited to have him on board as part of our team now for future camps!

I came to see Connor after a suffering from torn PCL/LCL in my knee from a BJJ match. I was given a brace to wear day and night and was told to wear it for 12 weeks and then see a surgeon ready for an operation. I came to see Connor for a 2nd opinion who advised me not to go for the op based on my level of function and got me out of the brace within a few weeks, with a personalised recovery plan from day 1 to build strength in my knee. . It was nice to see my brace removed much sooner than anticipated, with the confidence that I would be safe, and I would recover faster by training. I’m 8 months on from my injury I’m back training and competing, 100% healed and over the moon with the results.

Frequently asked questions

Challenge objections prospects might have

What types of sports injuries do you specialize in treating?

We specialise in treating all manner of sporting (and non-sporting) injuries! From yoga and running to climbing and MMA, you’re in safe hands with us

How long does a typical treatment plan take to see results?

This is highly dependent on injury. For a muscle ~3-6 weeks to see full recovery, for a tendon ~6 weeks, for bone injuries, depends on the size of the bone you’ve injured, but between 4 and 12 weeks is a good general guide (4 for bones like in the hand, 12 for bones like an arm or leg)

What should I expect during my initial assessment and subsequent follow-ups?

During your initial assessment, you will receive a diagnosis and a clear rehab plan. You may need a follow-up to facilitate a quick return to sport, but we’ll give you all the info you need to recover.

Do you offer services for non-athletes or people with general musculoskeletal issues?

Yes, we deal with all manner of injuries at PSP, from unfortunate falls to whiplash and everything in between. We focus not only on helping you recover but also on making you more robust and resilient to injury going forwards

What are the benefits of sports massage and how often should I get one?

Sports massage is a great catalyst for recovery. It helps reduce pain and stimulate blood flow. Extremely effective when combined with heat therapy and targeted exercises/mobility work.

How does your acupuncture treatment help with pain and stress relief?

Acupuncture stimulates the body’s histamine response and also the release of pain-relieving endorphins.

Can you provide remote consultations and treatment plans for those unable to visit in person?

We offer remote services via FaceTime / Instagram video or WhatsApp video. We have had great success with this, especially with post-surgical patients, and athletes who are time-restricted. Ideally we will need you to be able to demonstrate activities and exercises over the video for the best experience. As with our in-person consultations, you will receive a diagnosis and a rehab plan on your initial assessment.

Do you offer physiotherapy services in Queensferry and Liverpool?

We offer our services in Chester, Queensferry, and Liverpool and we can arrange home visits everywhere in between at a small additional cost.

What are your clinic hours and location details for Queensferry and Liverpool?

Our main base of operations at present is in the boardroom climbing centre in Queensferry and in Next Gen MMA Liverpool. But home visits are available everywhere in between at a small additional cost.

Can I book an appointment online for your Liverpool or Queensferry locations?

At present, online bookings aren’t available, you’re best to drop us a text, email, or Instagram message to liaise directly with our physios and get booked in smoothly. Unfortunately due to how busy we are, phone calls are hard to answer at present!

Will assessing my injury aggravate my pain?

It may be necessary as part of the diagnostic process to complete some provocative testing that will temporarily increase your pain, but this is essential to help us diagnose the issue accurately.

The exercises I’ve been given hurt, should I continue with them?

It’s very common when you’re injured that when you reintroduce exercises or movements they can be painful. This normally settles within a day or two of continuing the exercises. Your physio will give you guidance on what is an acceptable level of pain, but if you are concerned or have any concerns, just get in touch and we’ll ensure you’re on the right path. We’d rather you ask than worry!
